The original owner was reputed to have owned the local railway at the time of building (1871) and had a private walkway into the rail station at Eden Park which exists today.

Access to the City is thirty minutes by British Rail to London Bridge and Charing Cross and eleven miles by road. Accessing some of London's top attractions, the Tower of London and the London Eye (big wheel) is easy, with a 20 minute train journey to Lewisham followed by a 15 minute journey on the Docklands Light Railway or tube.
