The Kitley Estate is a unique environment where, over the centuries, time has almost stood still. The earliest record of the Estate is to be found in the Domesday Book (1086) although the house dates from the Tudor period. With its mile-long drive through glorious Devon countryside it has both the look and feel of a small English stately mansion, but with all the warmth of a family home.

The accomodation at Kitley House is an oasis of quiet luxury, providing the highest standards in comfort, cuisine and personal service. A sweeping staircase leads up to 19 spacious bedrooms and suites. Each has panoramic views over the estate and is richly appointed with furnishings designed to reflect the traditional elegance of the house while incorporating all modern facilities.
There are 7 deluxe State Rooms on the Ground Floor and First Floors. These rooms are large mini suites in a variety of individual colour schemes and layouts. The State Rooms in particular feature large full height panoramic windows and each has a lounge area. The beds are mostly kingsize with options for Double or Twin occupancy. The sofa's in most rooms also converts into a bed which is particularly suitable for children and can also accommodate adults. Each State Room has an iron and board as a standard and are ensuite with Bath & Shower.

There are 12 Club Rooms on the second floor which feature Family, Double, Twin and Single occupancies. The rooms are of reasonable size and again feature the largest beds suitable for the rooms. Interlocking Rooms suitable for families are available. All rooms are ensuite with Bath & Shower and are non-smoking.

The Library with its re-instated views over the lake and its elaborate rich decor is perfectly suited to both Restaurant and Formal Dining. Popular with Weddings throughout the year it has also created an enviable reputation as a fine dining restaurant in the local area. The Restaurant offers a Daily Menu that varies throughout the week and features seasonal exclusively local produce from Devon & Cornwall. The Terrace Bar that adjoins the Library offers access to both the Terrace and the Gardens via French Windows. Lighter meals from the Lounge Menu can be taken throughout the day and evening anywhere in the house. The traditional Afternoon Tea menus are also popular with our visitors.

Complementing local attractions and actvities such as visits to towns, historic houses & country sports - Kitley House has been developing its event programme over the past 6 years and now boasts one of the most varied entertainment schedules in the area.

Christmas at Kitley House is a busy time of year. On arrival the log fires and Christmas Trees set the atmosphere for the event. The menus over the season reflect your requests with a seasonal focus. We do recommend booking early as from past experience the accommodation is exceptionally popular.

The Residential Programme described below is also very popular and gives guests the opportunity to completely escape from the world for a few days. The break goes at your pace and is organised for your enjoyment. The catering is first rate so please don't start your diet before Christmas!
